Day 30: Calm

A calm day for Rascal is one with no artillery firing, no thunderstorms, no fireworks, and no whistles blowing in an Olympic event. We can only prevent the whistles, however not going to happen when we're watching swimming or volleyball. Like many Border Collies Rascal cannot stand loud noises. He starts barking, chattering his teeth, pacing the house, and practically having a heart attack. Many people do not realize these intelligent dogs have real difficulty with these situations. We did use a t-shirt on him for a while and he actually took Wayne to it once when he wanted it on. Smart I tell you, very smart. As he has grown older he has mellowed somewhat, partially due to medication, but I never know when this calm will turn to chaos!
